Success means many different things to different things to different people. What success may look like to me, could look completely different to some one else. It’s one of those things that’s relative to who you are and what’s important to you.  No one can define success for you, because what it means to you is in your heart, just as its in mines and everyone else.  You have to define success for yourself, because it is your success and no one else’s…even if other’s benefit from it.

What Success Is To Me | BlissandFaith.com

To me, success means security. Security on all planes, meaning spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, and financial. My faith has a lot to do with how secure I feel about something, because many of the things I look to validate what is and isn’t successful are out of my control. Yes, I can put in the work all day and night, but it doesn’t mean that what I’m doing is actually in God’s plan for me. The only way I can can learn if it is or isn’t is to pray and have continued, unrelenting faith.  As a Christian and imperfect human, it’s hard sometimes, actually a lot of the time.

The Blood, Sweat, & Tears

When you come up with amazing ideas that you think everyone is going to back you, and when no one does it can be extremely discouraging. Even more so, if these grand ideas are your bread and butter and not one single person seems to be interested can be heart-wrenching. Over the past few years, I’ve come up with so many ideas and truly believed that these things would make me successful. Well I’m here to tell you that they didn’t. No matter how hard I tried, the countless hours I put into it, it just didn’t pan out.

The Journey

The results were disappointing, but only recently did I realize that going through that disappointment has made me a stronger and more mature person. I realized that by going through those struggles that they’ve gotten me one step closer to finding myself and my true passion. In turn, it’s allowed to get one step closer to that success that I aspire to obtain.  Its a slow and steady process, but one I know is well worth it.  The journey may be long, full of challenges and sometimes set backs, but I know that good things don’t just fall in your lap and especially without hard work.

Everything Has a Season

If you ever find yourself disappointed in where you’re at, not achieving your dreams fast enough, or lost on your journey to success, just know that everything has a season.  Sometimes our dreams require setbacks, so that when we accomplish them we are truly ready for what they have to bring.  The dreams that take the longest to achieve are typically the ones that bless us the most.  Know your blessing is right around the corner and be ready to take it by the horns and shoot higher than the stars.  I know the season I’m in may seem like a drought, but God is just preparing me to flourish when the he pours his blessings over me.  He will do the same for you!

Have you ever felt discouraged about your dreams? – Ever felt that your were in a dry season?  How did you deal and come out of it?
