So your ready to update your Apple device to the new iOS 7 operating system. We’ve heard about the bells and whistles for months and now we want to see what all the hype is about. I know I sure do, this being my first time owning an Apple device when a huge operating system update is taking place. I’m ready for something new and fresh, even thought I’ve only had my iPhone 5 since February. Apple is known for innovation, so the $200+ I spent upgrading from my Droid, I wanna see go somewhere.

I’ve been following the news on the update for a few months, but it’s not been until the last few weeks that I’ve become really interested in it. A complete visual and system update is what iOS 7 is supposed to be. In this case, it’s essential to prepare our devices for the update. Like with any update, you risk losing info if you don’t take the prosper steps to backup and update.

Here’s a 3 tips on how to prepare you device:

1. Back Up. Make sure all the media and memories you have stored on your device are backed up.

2. Check compatibility. Only Retina display handsets can support the new OS. This includes, iPhone 4, 4s, and 5, and the new iPhones, 5c and 5s. When it comes to iPads, anything second gen or higher will be able to support iOS 7. That includes the iPad 2, 3, 4, and iPad mini. The fifth generation iPod touch is also iOS 7 upgradeable.

3. Clean Up. Delete apps you never use, and update ones that need updating. – I’m notorious for having way too many unused and underused apps!

Are you ready for the update? How do you feel about the system and visual revamp! – Can’t wait to hear your thoughts and share mines after the update.
