Its the beginning of the month and I thought it was high time to not only set my goals, but to share them for accountability purposes. I can’t believe we are already into July, where has the year gone? Before we know it the Fall will be here, and then the holidays. Crazy, right?! Geez, as I always say; time flies when you’re having fun…or something like it!

July has always been a pretty god month for me. Back when I was in the military, I looked forward to that 72 or 96 we would get. It was so nice to get those little breaks here and there. Unfortunately, that is no longer, but its all good. Where one door closes, another opens. The main thing I want to do is set myself up for success and have a sound mind, body, and soul.

My goals for accomplishing this during the month of goal are as follows:

Mind

  1. Stay focused. – My nature is to be implusive and a bit all over the place.  Focus will allow me to hone my energy and  use it on useful projects and plan better.
  2. Know that its okay to get overwhelmed, but take things in stride.  – Not sweating the small stuff is my motto for July.  Its a laid back month, so I’d like keep a sound, and clear mind.
  3. Keep anxiety in control. – June was a bit of a tizzy for me.  I had some rough days, where my anxiety got the best of me.  I want to work on thinking more positive thoughts and not focus or dwell on negative thing.

Body

  1. Drink more water! – Nuff said.
  2. Eat at least 3 times a day, and have a few snacks in between. – This requires me to peel myself away from designing and eat!  Food is not only only fuel for the body, but for the mind.
  3. Start walking, doing squats and core building exercises. – Now we all know I’m not a fan of working out, but I do believe in exercise.  Its healthy to get your heartrate up, as well as doing muscle buidling activites.  TMI:  I’d like to get my booty back.  Its gone on a little vacation, with me loosing weight and all.  Plus I just look better and healthier a little more filled out.

Soul

  1. Spend time with God everyday. – I need to be intentional about dedicating time to spend with God.  I talk to Him everyday, but I want to talk to Him more and spend more time praying, reflecting, and just being one with Him.
  2. Pray more. – There is no special time to do this, I would just like to do it more.  I want to especially speak to the Lord in the morning and at night though.
  3. Have more talks about faith and spirituality with my husband, and family. – This is something I don’t do enough.  I have found through talking more about God and spirituality, that I learn so much and get so much clarity.  The clarity allows me to understand my faith more and feel even closer to God.

I have many more goals, but these are the ones at which my life will be centered upon for July.  By accomplishing this set of goals, others will fall into place.  Whether it be for my business, blog, family/personal life; my mind, body, and soul needs to be aligned in order for everything to work.  I’m not the most disciplined, and in having goals I stay motivated and hold myself accountable.

Goals are starting points, so I can only go up and get better from where I started.  But I gotta start somewhere!

  1. I am so with you!
I never remember to drink enough water, or peel myself from work to eat three square meals.
And anxiety often gets the best of me. What does it entail for you?

    1. I tell you, I’m horrible at it! I’m already coin much better, but lets hope I stay on the straight and narrow. I tend to get bored and veer off, lol! Anxiety definitely gets the best of me, but I find that praying really helps. Sometimes you just get so overwhelmed that you just have to give it to God. Mediation also helps, quieting your mind and going to a happy place for just a few moments can do wonders!

  2. Good luck with your goals! I’ve made some July goals myself. Hopefully I’ll be able to follow those as well. Happy Wednesday!

    1. Thanks so much! I tried to keep them all very tangible, basing them on accountability, rather than reach. Yes, even the soul needs to be held accountable! Its what keeps everything else together. 🙂

    1. Thanks so much! Yes, its a great to hold yourself accountable. Thing is, even if you don’t remember, someone else will. Also, it will allow me to look back and see what I did and did not accomplish as I make the next month’s goals.

  3. I love the idea of setting goals and try and do the same each month. Good luck w/ yours!
(Stopping by from #SITSsharefest!) Happy July!

    1. Thanks so much! Its been an excellent way of holding myself accountable. I definitely going to try to keep it up. I hope you had a wonderful 4th! Have a great week!

    1. I love the idea of the “small victories”. I design planners, and although I have a Daily Affirmation section, it would be great to add something similar to a small victories/thankful for section.

I’ll definitely swing by and link up at your monthly goals linky. What a great way to connect with others who are goal oriented and holding themselves accountable. Thanks so much for inviting me over! 🙂

  4. Stopping by from Creative Style link-up 🙂 I can appreciate your goals for July. You have inspired me to set a few of my own. Life gets so busy sometimes, it is good to stop and refocus now and again.
    Blessings,
    Shari

    1. Aww, thanks so much! I’m so happy to know that you found them inspiring. Yes, stopping to refocus is essential. Just those few moments to do it can go a long way! 🙂

  5. Amen to never sweating the small stuff and eating thrice a day. Gosh, I skip meals everyday just to be able to sleep straight! All the best to you Tenns!

    1. Ya know! Thanks so much Rea! I’m right there with you on the skipping meals. I get so caught up with so may things, it just falls by the wayside.

  6. Love it! Mind: I need to be more focused. The kiddos take me away so often, that I forget that when I get a few minutes, I should be working. I normally have one or two on my lap almost all day. Body: Workout consistently. I have not been consistent at all. Two weeks on then two weeks off! It’s terrible. Soul: My husband and I started reading the bible together. I think that it will start to show some benefits in our marriage and our lives in the future. Thanks for co-hosting and sharing with Creative Style

    1. April, I love your goals. They’re so practical and focused. Focus is definitely something I see being a trend with many. Maybe its our generation or even the fact that its summer. I think there are just so many distractions, that focus goes out the window. Everywhere you turn there’s something else to focus on or pay attention to. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, always love to hear them lady! 🙂

  7. Goals are always a good idea! This month I’m working through some blogging goals and enjoying a vacation with my extended family. Thanks for sharing via Family Fun Friday!

    1. Yes, I couldn’t agree more! That’s so awesome you’re able to go on vacation with extended family. Maybe next year my family and I will get to go. I’m hoping my goals will help get me and my family to a place where we can enjoy some of the things like vacation again. 🙂

  8. Great goals! I’m totally with you especially on #2 of Mind and #1 on Body (I definitely do not drink enough water, especially given that I’m still nursing.) Good luck with your goals for the month! Stopping by from the Creative Style Blog Hop.

    1. Thanks so much! Its an everyday struggle with the water. Its such an easy thing, right?! You’d think I could just drink, but I’d rather be eating, lol!

I really appreciate you stopping by and linking up and sharing with us!

  9. Hello Fellow GA Blogger! I swear you mind goals were written for me too. I tend to get overwhelmed to the point that I get stuck. I am learning to calm down and prioritize any issues that may arise. Part of getting my anxiety under control has been more time praying and talking to God.

    1. Hey there lady! Always nice to meet a fellow GA blogger! Yes, I tell you when it comes to getting overwhelmed, sometimes I just completely shut down. I’m in the same boat, attempting to learn how to calm down and holding myself more accountable by writing my goals down. Same here with talking to God, even if its just for a few moments through the day I find that praying really helps to center me. 🙂

  10. Such great goals for July (or anytime)! Glad you’ve shared them. A few of my goals for this month are to keep looking for a new dwelling for my family, pack this place, give away/get rid of things we aren’t taking with us, move into new place, continue to seek inspiration and ideas on ways to make our new place ours (for the first time ever), keep blogging, continue working with a friend on new ventures, work on my anxiety and fears with the changes, and seek guidance from my HP! 🙂

Stopping over from the Wonderful Wednesday hop!

    1. Thanks so much! You have some great goals, that I’m sure you will accomplish. The summer time is the best time to move, pack, and just clear things out in general. Before you know it, the school year’s back in, the holidays are around the corner, and its a new year. Boy how times flies, and its so easy to let it get away from you! I think by voicing/writing your goals, it makes them tangible and easier to work towards. Good luck with your goals this month! 🙂

  11. Goal setting can definitely help to keep us on track! Trying to balance it all with the baby’s changing schedule can be tough especially the first year so I hope you aren’t being too hard on yourself. I like that you broke things down into categories. That can be very helpful at times too. 🙂
