Look at that face, isn’t it precious?!

Yes it is!

But….this kid is a ham!

And he gets a way with everything…and at only 6 months old!  He turned 6 months on Tuesday, but Monday, Monday he nearly had me in tears.  He has such a strong personality, like his mama.  He packs a lot of power in that little body of his, mostly that little mouth.  My chunk, or buddy, or muffin knows how to give his mama (and daddy)  a run for her money.

Chunk is the funnist, sweetest kid I know, but he’s also one that tests his parents on a daily basis.  He does it so much, that we laugh at him all the time.  Most of the time its cute, but some times, it drives us up the wall.  Its the times when I’m rushing to get us both ready and he throws a tantrum, because he wants to be held or picked up.  The pressure is on and all he wants to do it get attention.  He’s very social and loves attention, and he’ll let you know when he wants it for sure.  He will also let you know when he doesn’t.

At 6 months, he’s showing us so much more of himself.  He’s interested in everything, and everything goes in his mouth.  If not in his mouth, definitely in his hands, and then he’s ripping, tearing, or pressing all kinds of buttons, i.e. when he gets hold of my phone.  Its amazing how much personality this kid has.  Like he is seriously already his own little person.

I’ve learned in six months of being a mother, that you can never underestimate a baby.  They have good days and bad ones.  They get attitudes, and don’t want to be bothered.  And they crack up at things and fall over laughing, just like us adults do.  Yes, they are their own little people.  With that comes them testing you and pushing your buttons.  It also means that like any other human, they possess the ability to take advantage and get over on you.

My son knows he has me wrapped around his finger.  He had me on the verge of tears the other day.  Babies and kids are geniuses when it comes to making their parents feel like complete failures at all times.  He had me embarrassed and feeling like I didn’t know what to do or what I was doing.  He threw a tantrum before we left the house, threw another in Target, and one all the way home.  It didn’t stop there, because he was still on level 10 when his daddy got home.  I told my husband he’d been like that all day, and then my husband got a real taste.  Who knows what was going on, it could have been anything; teething, growth spurt, or just plain attitude.

Check out that side-eye he’s giving daddy!!!  Amazing right?  I told you, my son definitely gets a real attitude at times.

But most of the time, he’s like this:

And it makes every second of him testing me, WORTH IT!

Happy 6 months Chunk!  Mommy and Daddy love you!

  1. Aw! He has grown up so much!
And what a ham is right. My kids didn’t learn those techniques until much older, but it’s there. They test me A LOT!

    1. I’m telling you, time has flown! I know I’m in store for much more. My husband and I always knew our kid would be a handful, just didn’t think he would be one so soon, lol!

  2. Awww! He is so cute! Look how much he has grown! So adorable. I definitely know what you mean. The older they get the more they understand and the tantrums definitely get more interesting lol. JR is my first so it is tough to completely ignore him but he is definitely quite the little guy. 🙂

    1. I can’t believe how the time has flown! I mean seriously, I feel like I just had him like yesterday! I’m interested to see just how “interesting” his tantrums get, lol! I think the first babies always get away with more. They break you in, so its by default that they do. Unfortunately, or rather fortunately for is their siblings pay for what their “predecessors” did, lol!

  3. He is so adorable! I think him and Butterfly share their birthday! No tantrums yet, but I think that’s only because Bee has complete reign of tantrums and knows how silly it looks. Even she gets a weird look on her face whenever Bee throws hers. LOL! Thanks for sharing with Countdown in Style!

  4. Awww!! He is ADORABLE! I love that side-eye he’s giving daddy, “Hey, you think you’re cute next to my woman, back up she’s mine!”
Kiddos have their days just like we do, and when they’re unable to communicate it’s SO hard for us.
    Happy 6 months cutie pie!!!
    XOXO
